1)  Starting?
Well... Hmmm since this is my first year teaching kindergarten I'm anxious to read other blogs to see when they plan. I think it is very important to have these students believe they are readers and find success, so I really hope the sooner the better. And since we will only be "reading" to self for 30 seconds I think it is able to be done sooner than later, so it is just routine. 


2) Launching?
Model, probably record and take pictures to review later or when new students join us. Pictures of actual students will be added to chart to make it personal. 


3) Importance and Disruptions?
Anytime I read aloud or read aloud pictures I self reflect (out-loud) how much I love reading and going on an adventure within a book. 

I will really try to find books that interest the disruptive students to they can find success.  

4) Check-in?
Holds students and teacher accountable for the time spent working on reading. I think it is very important to take this reflection time to check in. 


5)Problems?

Finding a spot and being ok with the spot being different from last time. For those students who must have the same spot they will have the choice of their "spot" on the carpet or their chair at their table.
